James is a dedicated squash player and coach, having competed on the PSA tour and trained with the Hong Kong National Team. His work ethic and commitment are widely recognized. As a junior in Hong Kong, I used to train frequently with James.

As a coach, James is thoughtful and provides clear, practical advice. Since retiring as a professional player, he has focused on coaching and has trained many talented players. During my visits to Taiwan, I have had the opportunity to practice with his students and witness the passion and commitment that both James and his players have for the sport.

Miriam Cheng, Stanford University Women's Squash Team

I have played competitive squash for the last 5 years. My high school squash team was consistently top-ranked nationally, and I was recruited to play for the highly ranked University of Rochester Varsity Team.

Training under James early on taught me valuable lessons, both on and off the court. He not only improved my skills but also fueled my passion for the sport. He's dedicated to developing the local squash community and instilling confidence in young players.

James coaches with passion, respect, and patience, offering insightful advice to improve your game. His workouts, routines, and training sessions are incredibly effective at elevating your squash skills. If you're looking to advance your game, I highly recommend training with him.

Preston Wu, University of Rochester Men's Squash Team

James coached me while he was on the professional tour, and his dedication to the game is unmatched. His hard work, discipline, and deep understanding of squash make him an exceptional coach who truly elevates his players.

Howe Cheng, Princeton University

James Huang is one of these exceptionally rare players who managed to get to a top level in professional squash despite coming from a place without a long squash tradition. What is even rarer is that in his current coaching role, James not only conceives the strength and squash training blocks for his players, but he actively participates in them and even performs match practice. It is incredibly beneficial in order to develop great players to have a coach who can still play at a very high level and goes on court with them daily.

Over the last 2 years, I’ve truly been impressed how invested he is in the future of his players, and how generous he is with his time and knowledge, even with people coming from outside for short stints.

With a player and coach of James’ strength and quality, his commitment - 6 times per week on court with his players, twice a day - the AJ academy is uniquely positioned to bringing Taiwanese players inside the top 100 in a few years.

Csaba Forro,

former Swiss(Nati A) division 1

I am a high school senior at Tabor Academy in Massachusetts, where I am also the captain of the varsity squash team. Although I started playing squash relatively late, I was fortunate to have James as my first coach. He taught me the fundamentals and provided guidance that allowed me to continue improving even when I wasn't able to train with him. Whenever I return to Taiwan, I always make sure to seek out James for coaching. He is genuinely invested in his students' progress, understands their individual needs regardless of skill level, and his passion for the sport has had a profound impact on me and many others.

Ben Kuo,

Tabor Academy Squash Team

I'm currently a student-athlete at Williams College, where I play on the varsity squash team.

I've had the privilege of being coached by Coach James during my time at Williams. He's an exceptional coach with a deep understanding of the game of squash. His expertise is evident in his coaching style, which is both informative and motivating. He has a unique ability to break down complex strategies into easily digestible concepts, making them accessible to players of all levels.

Hudson Lin, Wiliams College Men's Squash Team

I'm a Taiwanese-American squash player with a deep passion for the sport, honed over four years of playing. Growing up in Buffalo, New York, I actively participated in junior tournaments across the U.S. throughout the year, leading to my selection to both the Taiwan Junior and Adult National Teams this year, an achievement I'm truly proud of.

My connection to Taiwan has always been strong, with annual summer visits to my grandparents and cousins. During one of these visits a few years ago, I was introduced to the local squash community and have since fostered close relationships with many coaches and players. Training in Taiwan under James, a dedicated and genuine coach, has significantly enhanced my skills and deepened my love for the sport. I have immense respect for James, both as a skilled competitor and a committed mentor who has been instrumental in my growth as a player.

Cordelia Hsu, Taiwan National Team

I’m currently a senior in high school studying at Taipei European School. I will be playing Varsity Squash in university at Haverford College. I’ve played squash for 7 years and I’ve been with James since 2020. I have been representing Taiwan as a national junior for the last 3 years and I am currently ranked #51 in the Asia Junior Squash Ranking in the U19 division.

I started training with James when I was 12 years old. Back then, I lacked discipline and performed poorly in tournaments. James' encouragement and well-structured training program helped me improve quickly, and I started winning more tournaments. James is a considerate and diligent coach who always reviewed every match with me after each tournament, which helped me identify areas where I could improve. His dedication to my training inspired me to work harder.

Wayne Hsu, Haverford College Men's Squash Team

I am a former Taiwan National Junior currently studying at NYU.

Coach James has been an amazing mentor over the past seven years. He's more than just a coach to me – he's a role model. What I appreciate most is his incredible patience; he always sticks with me until I was able to learn what he wants to teach.

Even though I'm at NYU now and can't train with him in person, he still gives me feedback remotely on my squash. I'm truly thankful for his guidance and support.

Felix Tsai, NYU,

Former Taiwan National Junior

Coach James is highly detail-oriented, capable of precisely identifying a player's technical issues, and adept at providing clear, structured instructions on how to correct them. I love talking to Coach James because he always offers insightful answers on various aspects of squash, ranging from technical problems, game strategy to mental challenges
